Today we pray for one of our local missions - Camp Imadene. Camp Imadene has been providing Vancouver Island with quality Christian camping, summer camps and off-season retreat programs for over 95 years. We join them in praise for that long history of Christian service, and in prayer for wisdom as they plan for a new camping season. Here is an update, full of praise and prayer items.

God has given us lots to be thankful for:

  • A complete summer staff team of over 60 young people who are passionate about serving Jesus.
  • All the volunteers who have agreed to work in the kitchen, help support staff, be nurses, or be weekly cabin leaders.
  • Registrations have been strong, and most weeks have reached or are close to capacity.
  • The new conveyor dishwasher that was donated has reduced the time it takes to do the dishes by at least one and a half hours each meal.  This allows our staff more time to be with campers, help in other areas, or rest.
  • In the Chapel, the donated digital soundboard has made a considerable difference in the sound quality; voices are much cleaner sounding and easier to hear the message.  
  • Donations continue to come in, helping offset the cost of the camp and making it more affordable.

Here are a few specific items to pray for:

  • The weekly speakers. They have an essential role in delivering the gospel message. Please pray that God will speak through them.
  • The last remaining spots for children and youth will be filled. We can't share the good news of Jesus with an empty bunk.
  • Our summer staff to have wisdom as they share the gospel with humility and grace.
  • Safety as we build relationships through fun activities.
  • The full-time staff as they navigate the remaining summer and lead the staff team.
  • The Imadene Society Board of Directors as they seek the Lord's direction in setting the long-term vision of this amazing ministry.
