This week our missions prayer is for Clayton and Isobel Dougan and their Evangelism and Bible teaching ministry. Based in Victoria they are an active part of Lambrick Park Church.
Here is an update from them:
We are so grateful for the ongoing prayerful and financial support we receive from our home church at Lambrick. Our clear, God given opus operandi is still, “preach the word…..do the work of an evangelist” (2 Tim. 4.1-5).
Items for praise:
- Recently Clayton was invited to tell his story to the Leaders’ Conference at Capernwray Harbour regarding the faithfulness of God over the years. While it was a challenge to condense 60 plus years into 30 minutes, many of the delegates spoke of being helped and encouraged.
- The ten minute YouTube messages given during Covid (60 of them) are still being used in various situations e.g. to the seniors’ group at Departure Bay Baptist Church, Nanaimo.
- We give thanks for the evidence of people coming to faith in Christ and the ensuing growth in their walk with the Lord.
Items for prayer:
- Wisdom is needed in knowing how much to take on these days. We are both turning 80 years of age this summer. Preaching and teaching opportunities are coming our way all the time both on Vancouver Island and on the Lower Mainland.
- We pray for the teaching ministry in the summer program and later in the Bible School at Capernwray, Thetis Island. This is a vital part of our ministry.
- We pray for the men Clayton is mentoring - some know the Lord and some don't.
