This week we pray for Daniel & Sandi McDougall who minister to international students and scholars at UVic leading them to discover Jesus through the Word of God, and preparing them to serve God wherever He leads them. Here is an update from them:

Items of Praise:
  • We continue to enjoy the favour of the UVic community (staff, faculty, and administration, as well as students themselves).
  • Sandi has really blossomed in her in-person role with international and grad students, and she has spearheaded 'common cause' ventures with other campus Christian ministries that don't have a particular strength in ministry to international or grad students.
  • Even in post-Covid-restrictions, we continue to have both in-person and virtual online ministry (literally around the world).  This means that with some folks, we're no longer limited by time-zones or other physical restrictions.
 
Items for our prayers:
  • Please do pray for me (Daniel) as I navigate ministry as I continue to deal with the limitations of vertigo.  My various medical specialists are very encouraging about my recovery, but please do pray for healing.
  • Although we McDougalls have no aspirations for retirement on our horizon, please pray that we would spiritually discern and mentor possible successors to what God has been doing through us at UVic.
  • Please pray that the rising specter of Artificial Intelligence and other technologies would not muddy the sharing of the gospel as 'fake news'.
