English Language Learners Ministry

This week our Missions prayer is for Lambrick's English Language Learners Ministry which has continued throughout the winter and fall with in-person and Zoom classes.

Monday morning beginner group

Many learners are brand new to learning English or continuing to build on basic conversation skills.

Prayer focus:

• Please pray for patience and persistence for students as they learn a new language.
• For the teachers, please pray for wisdom, creativity, patience, and insight to know how to help each individual student.

Monday morning in-person and Tuesday Zoom intermediate class

Over the next few weeks, both classes will be learning about Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Prayer focus:

• Praise God for the high level of engagement in all of the classes - students are keen to learn, and are sharing, participating, and helping one another in the classes.
• Some have come wanting to know more about Jesus - pray the Lord would open their hearts to believe the gospel, and that they would come to know Christ
• Some students are believers - pray the Spirit to guide them into deeper faith

Thursday Bible Study via Zoom

We continue our study of Matthew. We will skip ahead to read about Jesus’ death and resurrection. All of the students are believers – some are new in their faith.

Prayer Focus:

• That they will continue to trust God in all things.
• That He would continue to build their faith as they seek him.

General prayer

For students:

• to feel safe and comfortable to practice speaking English in class
• That those who are new to Canada would feel welcome here.

For teachers:

• to continue to develop deeper, significant relationships with the students
• For creativity to meet the diverse needs and skill level of students
• For wisdom, guidance, and creativity as they plan lessons each week
• We need another one or two people to help out occasionally at our Monday morning class and for another person to co-lead the Tuesday Zoom group
