Please pray for Karen Bogle, a member of our congregation, as she is going on a short-term mission to Maicao, Guajira, Columbia with Medical Ministries International.
Her family has a long-term relationship with the organization. Her father had gone on 86 medical eye missions before he passed away last year. (Her mother Audrey has a wing in a hospital in the Dominican Republic after she passed away suddenly 31 years ago)
Medical Ministry International supports Health Care Centres in developing countries with the goal of increasing affordable, quality healthcare. Local physicians are trained up and supported.
Karen is heading to Columbia from January 12 to 28 with a team of 40+ people mostly from Canada and a few from the US. The team includes Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, anesthesiologists, nurses, techs, and general helpers.
The team will set up a clinic in Maicao and screen patients for surgeries, glasses, or whatever is needed. A collection of glasses and surgical supplies is taken with the team.
People are introduced to the gospel.
