This week we pray for our local missions partner, Sanctuary Youth Centre (SYC).  Based in the basement of the Church of Our Lord in downtown Victoria they serve as a safe place for some of the most vulnerable people in our city - street-entrenched and at-risk youth between the ages of 14 and 22.
 
Here's an update from them: 
"We have so much to be thankful for!
Thankful for all of those who provided donations of items that went into the 52 backpacks we handed out to vulnerable youth during our annual backpack giveaway program.
 
Thankful that we had a team of people that came in and prepared our Christmas meal and then another team that came in to clean up.
 
Thankful to have hired a wellness specialist (via a grant) who cares so well for our staff, volunteers and even our youth!  
Thankful for additional staff and great volunteers which makes it possible for Darin (our Executive Director) to be on a 3 month sabbatical! We pray that Darin will be rejuvenated during his sabbatical. 
 
That SYC staff will be in constant prayer about new outreach opportunities and moving towards starting a sustainable social enterprise."
