This week we pray for our local missions partner Sanctuary Youth Centre. Based in the basement of Church of Our Lord in downtown Victoria they serve as a safe place for some of the most vulnerable people in our city - street entrenched and at-risk youth between the ages of 14 and 22.
We join them in celebration and praise:
- We rejoice that several youth joined one of our staff at Trinity Church on Resurrection Sunday!
- We celebrate that we have three youth actively trying to get clean! Our Go Outside Program has resonated with this group of youth, and Isaac is meeting often with them on Saturdays to facilitate hikes and conversations.
- We are thankful that Bella was able to successfully connect another youth with a homelessness prevention agency in Victoria. This youth now has access to a support system, including housing, a social worker and employment avenues.
And we stand with them in prayer for the following:
- That our Wellness Wednesday programming (which began Wednesday April 19th) has the desired effect of encouraging more youth to get well and get active!
- For our youth who report more “close calls” on the street, including attempted muggings and swarmings
- For our change to summer hours as we offer drop-in from Thursdays-Sundays 3-7pm
- For our fundraising initiative for a centre van. We covet prayers for this vision and process.
