Our Missions prayer today is for our local mission, The Mustard Seed, with programs to fight hunger and restore faith to hurting souls in Greater Victoria.  They operate Vancouver Island’s largest Food Bank and Food Rescue Project, and offer Family back-to-school and Christmas supports, Hospitality programs, services at Hope Farm Healing Centre as well as Church services.
 
Here are some updates and prayer requests from them:

 

  • Our Grand Reopening for our worship space / hospitality centre (after our fire) will be taking place on the weekend after Labour Day. Everyone is invited. Our first service back will be Sept 10 at 2pm.  
  • Last week we gave out school supplies for almost 600 children and families. Please pray that we will be remembered by the parents and kids in the coming year as we invite them to more activities.
  • Our school meal program will be in full swing next month.
  • Please pray as we hire an Assistant Director for our Food Security department
  • We now have (at minimum) one spiritual formation activity happening every day of the week at Queens and/or Viewfield and/or Hope Farm. Please pray for more labourers/volunteers for the harvest field!  
  • We have begun to gear up for our Christmas celebration for December 17. Please pray for volunteers!
