In this sermon, Scott references the idea that Sanctification can be like a dance:
Sanctification - growing in Holiness – is first and foremost the work of the Spirit — a work that He is eager to do in us.
But it is a work that invites our active participation – inviting us to learn to trust in, depend upon and live in response to the Spirit’s work in us...
As Paul describes it in Galatians 5:25, “Let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
I love that language. It conjures the scene of two people dancing. A waltz, tango, foxtrot, rumba,. A partnered dance, either way.
With God.
But, most importantly, with God – the Holy Spirit – as the Lead partner in this dance. Not equal partners. But with God as the lead partner
Carlie Wilcox, from our Lambrick family was reminded of a poem she has written on this idea, and would like to share it with our church family. You can find her poem entitled 'I Dance with the One' available for download under 'Sermon Notes', along with a painting by Danielle Ortega, entitled 'Dancing with God'.
