Announcing Scott Anderson's Sabbatical

In 2021, the board of elders approved the dates for our Lead Pastor, Scott Anderson’s 3 month sabbatical from May 9 to Aug 12 of this year. The concept of a sabbatical break for our lead pastor every 5 year is enshrined in church policy and was a part of Scott’s contract when he was hired (plans for an earlier sabbatical were actually delayed in 2021 due to the pandemic). 

Sabbaticals are familiar in academic circles and often are related to creating protected time for focused research work but the concept has a biblical origin as a season of true rest with a view to renewal - physical, mental, spiritual. This practice promotes pastoral longevity, as a preventative measure to help pastors and their families avoid burn-out. For the benefit of both our church and for Scott, we believe it is important that we provide this time for Scott to be renewed.  

Scott and the board are working on a sabbatical plan that will allow Scott to have a true break, while also poising Lambrick for a fruitful season together.  We are excited for Scott, his family, and for Lambrick, and ask that you join us in praying that Scott will receive a fresh wind of faith and Spirit-filling for the next phase of their ministry in our church.
