This week we pray for our missionary Kelly (Johnson) Gahaya and her family who are in transition between providing a Counseling ministry in Rwanda and an anticipated similar ministry in Anacortes, Washington. As they have requested let’s remember them in prayer.
Here is an update from Kelly:
Our current situation is one that requires a lot of prayer so we are so happy that our LPC family continues to support us and cover us in prayer.
When we left Rwanda back in December 2022 it was our plan to stay in Victoria for 3-4 months to rest, recover and prepare for our next calling for ministry in Anacortes, Washington. As we did not have documentation for Jubilee to enter Canada we settled in Anacortes. Miraculously, we were allowed to enter Canada and Jubilee got a 6 Month TRP (Temporary Resident Permit). - In early January 2023 we applied online for an extension for her TRP but later discovered that it had to be done by mail. So, we resubmitted it via the mail, but have not yet had a response. As a result, we are unable to leave Canada as we have no guarantee of being able to return without proper documentation for our daughter. Additionally, a few weeks later we were informed that our application for citizenship for her could take up to 21 months.
So as we are waiting in Canada for our paperwork to come through we are not wanting to be idle. We are interested in starting ministry, and business here in Victoria as God directs us. Please pray for God to open doors for our counseling, teaching ministry and practice to be established here and or Celo's digital marketing business to begin to take off as well.
Jubilee is registered for Kindergarten in September at Braefoot Elementary, so we hope and pray that her transition to school is also a good experience for her.
In the meantime, we are happy to be a part of the LPC church family and also happy to be experiencing good times with our family and friends in Victoria.
